I was born in 1967 in Gardena, California. The 5th of 7 children and in the middle position of 3 boys, I found it easy to be the quiet one in the family and continue that role to this day. In school I found the clouds in the sky way more interesting than any book on my desk, unless that book had plenty of color pictures, so I spent much time daydreaming and gazing out the window. My favorite subjects in school were creative writing and art. I loved to draw even if the drawings weren't very good, I could spend hours and hours doodling whatever my head and hand could think of. I believe most of my drawings began without any plans, or if I did make plans to do this it often turned into that!

In the 80s while I was in high school, my dad started buying Amiga computers and he ended up selling me one of them. I was enthralled by the images that could be made on those magical machines that clicked, whirred and beeped. I spent many hours playing with Deluxe Paint and other paint programs. I also started painting on thick papers with acrylics around the same time.

I pretty much gave up anything to do with art shortly after high school as I got busy with other pursuits, but my love for art never went away.

About 5 years ago I purchased a Wacom tablet and rediscovered my love for digital art. Since then I purchased a Motion tablet and an iPad. All of these devices have become my tools for art. My acrylics and brushes are waiting to be picked up again. Maybe I will do that someday soon. In the meantime, I am happy to be able to create art without having to wash the paint off my hands.

Some programs that I enjoy using are Artrage, GIMP, and Mixel-a collage app for the ipad (the original version which will soon be no more.)

I am happy using a Macbook, a Wacom tablet on a PC running Windows or Linux, a Pocket PC, an Android tablet, or an iPad to create art. All of these have been very fun tools to make art with. My Amiga is on the way out since I not able to use anything other than a mouse to draw with that.

My favorite experiences in life have been working at a flower shop in Grass Valley, acting in The King and I, Annie Get Your Gun, The Man Who Came to Dinner, and A Christmas Carol (all in one year!,) Teaching Sunday School at a Calvary Chapel in Grass Valley, teaching 2nd grade at Cornerstone Christian School, and being a part of the Mixel online art community.

I currently live in Northern California with my wife and poodle where I am employed at a local hospital as an x-ray tech.
